Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website is run by Flatlander Trailer Sales LLC (“Flatlander”, “we”, “us”), a trailer and used vehicle dealer with lots in Jacksonville and Franklin, Illinois. Questions about this policy can go to the contact details at the end.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form (for example to check availability, request service, order or consign a trailer, get a price drop alert, or send feedback), we collect what you enter: usually your name, phone number, email address, your message, and details about the trailer or vehicle you are asking about.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and approximate location based on your IP address. We also note which listings are viewed so we know what shoppers are interested in.

Saved units. If you tap the heart to save a listing, that list is stored only in your own browser on your device. We do not receive it.

How we use it

To answer your questions and follow up about the trailer, vehicle or service you asked about.
To schedule service and keep you updated on it.
To send a one-time price drop alert when you ask for one.
To understand how the website is used and improve it.
To keep the website secure and prevent spam.
To meet legal and record-keeping requirements.

We do not sell your personal information.

Forms and our customer management system

When you send a form on this website, the information goes into our customer management system so our staff can respond, track the conversation and follow up. That system is run by a service provider on our behalf, and it is used only to manage our own customer communications. Staff may contact you by phone, text or email about your request.

Text messages (SMS)

If you check the box to receive text messages, we will text you about your inquiry. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. We do not share or sell your mobile number or text message opt-in information with third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes. See our SMS Terms for details.

YouTube videos and Google data

Some of our listings include walkaround videos hosted on YouTube. These videos are shown with the YouTube player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube does not set cookies until you press play; once you do, YouTube and Google may collect information under the Google Privacy Policy. By watching them you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Our staff inventory tool uses YouTube API Services to upload those videos to the Flatlander Trailer Sales YouTube channel and to change a video to unlisted after the vehicle or trailer sells. It connects only to our own business channel. It stores the connection key for that channel (encrypted) and the link and privacy status of the videos we upload. It does not access, collect or store any YouTube or Google information about website visitors.

The connection can be removed at any time from our tool’s settings, or from the Google account’s security page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, which revokes our access.

Reviews widget

Some pages show a reviews widget that displays reviews customers have left for our business. The widget loads from its provider’s servers when you view the page, and that provider may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details, as happens with any content loaded from another site.

Maps

Our location pages include a map that loads from Google only after you tap Show the map. Until you do, no map content is loaded from Google. Directions links open Google Maps, which is covered by Google’s own privacy policy.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-7DMYH7YCFR) and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this website, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last and where visitors click or scroll. These services use cookies or similar technologies and receive information such as your device, browser, approximate location and pages visited. We use this information in summary form to improve the website. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services and in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We and the analytics services above use them to remember preferences, keep the site working, and measure how the site is used. We also store small pieces of information in your browser, such as your saved units and how you arrived at our site, so forms can tell us where you came from. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, but some features may not remember your choices.

We share information only with service providers that help us run our business, such as our website host, our customer management system, text messaging and email providers, analytics providers, and lenders when you choose to apply for financing. We may also share information when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and customer records for as long as they are useful for serving you and as required for business, tax and legal records. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you, subject to those requirements.

Your choices

Reply STOP to any text to stop text messages.
Ask us to update or delete your information by email or phone.
Block or clear cookies in your browser.
Do not press play on videos if you do not want YouTube to set cookies.

Children

This website is meant for adults shopping for trailers, vehicles and service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy
