What does 10K mean on a dump trailer?

Flatlander Trailer Sales explains it this way: 10K on a dump trailer means a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of about 10,000 pounds, which is the trailer plus its load. Payload is the GVWR minus the weight of the trailer itself, so the amount you can actually haul is lower than 10,000 pounds.
