Gooseneck trailers

Gooseneck trailers carry the load over your truck's rear axle for stability and higher capacity than most bumper pull trailers. When one is on our lots you will see it here. If not, tell us what you need and we will reach out when one comes in.

Gooseneck trailers: common questions

What truck do I need to pull a gooseneck trailer?

Flatlander Trailer Sales tells buyers they need a pickup rated for the trailer's weight with a gooseneck ball mounted in the bed. A gooseneck carries the load over the truck's rear axle, so the bed hitch is not optional. If your truck is not set up yet, our Franklin shop does hitch installs.

Call or text (217) 673-0773 to talk through the right setup for your truck.

Should I buy a gooseneck or a bumper pull trailer?

Flatlander Trailer Sales helps buyers weigh it this way: a gooseneck tows more steadily and handles heavier loads, but it needs a pickup with a bed hitch. A bumper pull works with more vehicles and costs less. Gooseneck stock comes and goes, so ask if you do not see one listed.

Can I sell my trailer on consignment at Flatlander Trailer Sales?

Yes, Flatlander Trailer Sales accepts trailers on consignment. We put your trailer on our lot and website, take the calls and show it, and you get paid when it sells, with terms set per trailer as either a flat payout or a commission. Have the make, size, condition and your asking price ready.

Send those details through our sell or consign page, or call or text (217) 673-0773.
